For temporary workers in Canada, the Express Entry permanent residence program is an online system that allows skilled workers to apply for permanent residence in Canada through three streams:
- Canadian Experience Class- for skilled workers inside Canada with one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the past 3 years
- Federal Skilled Worker Stream- for skilled workers anywhere in the world with one year of skilled work experience anywhere in the world within the past 3 years
- Federal Skilled Trades Program- skilled workers with qualifications and experience in a skilled trade in Canada
- Provincial Nominees nominated by the province they are residing
Express Entry nominates candidates on a monthly basis taking into account the following factors:
- Age
- Skilled work experience in Canada
- Skilled work experience anywhere in the world
- Education
- English language skills
- French language skills
- Immediate family in Canada
- LMIA or LMIA-exempt job offer in Canada
