Group of 5 Refugee Asylum Applications in Orlando, FL

A Group of Five (G5) sponsorship involved five (5) or more Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have arranged to sponsor a refugee to come to Canada. This refugee must be recognized as meeting the definition of a refugee by either:

  • the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) or
  • the government of the country (foreign state) where the refugee lives
The Group of Five (G5) must live in the community that the refugee intends to immigrate and be able to have a plan for integration into Canadian society as well as a combination of combined income requirements and/or trust funds to take care of the initial expenses of the refugee and his or her dependent family members.
